Reggae superstar Alaine added to 'Give Africa Hope' events to benefit famine relief efforts in the Horn of Africa

Dallas, Texas: Award winning singer/songwriter/producer Alaine has been added to the already stellar lineup of Gramps Morgan, Peetah Morgan, J Boog and Anthony David, all scheduled to perform at the Give Africa Hope benefit events slated for September 23, & 24, 2011 in Dallas, Texas.
Alaine, who performed for a crowd of over 12,000 fans in Nairobi, Kenya back in November of 2010 did not have to be persuaded;
“I have never felt so much love from fans and a continent that I had only previously read about and heard stories from others. I really want to help as much as I can and being part of the benefit concerts in Dallas is definitely a good start”, says Alaine.
The reggae songstress whose music is a mix of timeless reggae love songs, a little dance hall and a sweet R&B sound has a cult like following among Africans both on the continent and in the Diaspora. She has just released her latest single “Bye Bye Bye” on the “Cardiac Strings Riddim”.
Capital FM Media Group in Kenya is no stranger to charity related activities. The company has been very active inthe community answering the call over and over led by its head honcho Chris Kirubi. In addition to making generous donations to the recently concluded “Kenyans for Kenya” kitty, Mr. Kirubi just donated another Kshs.
One million to the Kenyatta National Hospital, which helped open an isolation area for Multi-Drug Resistant TB at the institution. The media groups’ radio personalities are familiar faces and participants at most charity events within the country.
Several employees wear multiple hats by working with charities and NGOs spanning a global outreach. Capital FM which is celebrating its 15th year on Kenyan radio this month, has partnered with the Give Africa Hope project to help ensure that the long term goals for the Horn of Africa are achieved.
“By partnering with Give Africa Hope, we are in turn partnering with Project Maisha and UNICEF which overseas operations and funding for the Horn of Africa on a full-time basis”, says a Capital FM Spokesperson.
Capital FM will be Give Africa Hope’s main media partner in Kenya and will be coordinating the visiting artists’ activities on the ground in Kenya.On Friday the 23 rd of September, the benefit concert will be held at the Nai Sports Grill in Addison, Texas located at 15375 Addison Road, Addison, Texas 75001.
On Saturday the 24 th of September, the benefit concert will be held at the Heroes Lounge located at 7402Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231.
